About Optimus Fire Doors
Optimus Fire Doors inspects fire doors for landlords, agents and housing providers across Birmingham and the West Midlands. I'm Kevin Hall, and I carry out every inspection myself. Book online or call 07770 643480.
From carpentry to fire doors
I worked as a carpenter and joiner before moving into fire door inspection. I know how a door, frame and set of hinges should go together because I've fitted them.
Qualification
I hold the ProQual Level 3 Award in the Inspection and Testing of Fire Resisting Door Installation.
How I work
Before the visit I ask for the address, the door count, the reason for the check and who will let me in. On the day I check and photograph every door. The report follows within 24 hours.
What I will and won't do
I tell you plainly which doors pass and which fail. A door I couldn't reach is never marked as passed. I won't tell you every landlord needs an annual fire door certificate, because the law doesn't say that.
