Fire door installation in Birmingham
Fire door installation in Birmingham for doors that are too damaged to repair or were never fire rated in the first place. I fit a new leaf into a sound frame or a complete certified doorset myself, quoted from the inspection. Ring 07770 643480 or book an inspection online to start.

When a door can't be repaired
Some doors fail for reasons a repair won't solve, such as holes, alterations, a split frame or a leaf that isn't fire rated at all. In those cases the report recommends replacement and I quote for it. Smaller faults are covered on Fire door repairs in Birmingham.
FD30 and FD60 explained
FD30 means the door is rated to resist fire for 30 minutes, and FD60 for 60 minutes. An "S" after the rating, as in FD30S, means it has smoke seals too. HMO escape route doors are usually expected to be FD30S and fitted with a self-closer.
New leaf or full doorset
A new leaf is hung in the existing frame and suits a door whose frame is sound and fixed solid to the wall. A complete doorset replaces the frame and leaf together as one certified unit. After inspecting the door I tell you which one it needs.
Prices from
From £250 to £400 buys a new FD30 leaf hung in a suitable existing frame. Where the frame has to go too, a complete certified doorset costs from £500 to £850 depending on specification. Both prices are plus VAT, and all remedial work is quoted separately once the inspection is done.

FAQ
What landlords and managers ask before replacing a fire door.
When is a full doorset needed?
A full doorset is needed when the frame itself is damaged, loose or not suitable for a fire door. If the frame is sound, a new leaf can often go into it instead, which costs less. The inspection tells me which applies.
Can you install FD60 doors?
I can supply and fit FD60 doors where the fire risk assessment or the building calls for 60 minutes of fire resistance. The price depends on the specification, so I confirm it after the inspection.
What installation paperwork will I receive?
What comes with a new door depends on the door and its supplier, so I set it out in the quote. After fitting I inspect the new door and add it to your report, which gives you a photographed record of it in place.
