Fire door certificate
Fire door certificate requests usually come from a council, an insurer or a fire risk assessor. What they usually want is a recent inspection report rather than paperwork that came with the door. To get one, book an inspection or call me.

Certification label vs inspection report
The certification label is the label or plug on the hinge edge that proves the door's fire rating. An inspection report records whether each door was in working order on the day it was checked.
What the council or insurer wants
Most councils and insurers want evidence that the fire doors have been checked and any faults fixed. A dated report with a pass or fail for each door and photos usually covers that. Not every landlord is legally required to hold an annual fire door certificate.
Missing labels
Paint, repairs and age often hide or remove the label. Government guidance says older doors are not automatically unfit just because they lack modern certification. I look for other evidence of suitable fire performance and record what I find.
My report as evidence
You get a digital report within 24 hours, with a pass or fail for every door, photos and a list of what needs fixing. After repairs I re-inspect and update it. See Fire door inspection and survey in Birmingham and Fire door inspection cost for details.
